Can you give any advice to a 14-year-old who has had little time to cycle due to school commitments, but wants to continue improving in the sport?

Dominic O?Carroll, Wembley

From a fitness perspective, you should look to start putting a few miles under your belt. In the winter, try to get involved with some track racing, ideally linking up with a cycling club. It?s a little early to be specialising on the training front just yet, so concentrate on developing a good aerobic base with some racing experience.

The fact that you have schoolwork will probably limit the training load you are able to put on yourself, which at your age is no bad thing. In fact, make sure you have an easy week every third week.
