Recap of all the action during an incident-filled stage three of the 2015 Tour de France

Joaquim Rodriguez (Katusha) scored the stage win on a highly eventful third day at the 2015 Tour de France as it left its Grand Depart in the Netherlands to visit Belgium.

Rodriguez conquered the iconic Mur de Huy climb just ahead of Chris Froome (Team Sky) to claim the victory, with Froome taking the overall race lead after a serious crash saw overnight leader Fabian Cancellara (Trek Factory Racing) struggling with his injuries.

Cancellara fell victim to a mass pile-up just before the first categorised climb of the day. With a large number of riders on the deck, the race’s medical staff were stretched to their limit. A decision was made to halt the race, and the riders stopped for around 10 minutes before resuming.

Almost immediately, the overall contenders’ teams upped the pace, putting Cancellara and many other in difficulty.

Froome’s Sky and Alberto Contador’s Tinkoff-Saxo teams led the way into the brutal final climb, before the race shattered and riders came across the line in small groups.

The actions is set to continue tomorrow with the riders hitting the cobbles for France during stage four.
