What brand of cleats do you use?
and how many miles do you get out of them?

Look keo grey ones (4.5degree float) I get about 2000miles since I stopped walking across the gravel to the shed in the shoes! That knocks chunks off them! Cleat covers are a hassle but I always carry them just in case!

look keo black ones (0degree float) about 700miles have to walk across the stones every time i leave and lost the covers a week after i bought the most recent pair. oops.

but your 2000miles may well convince me to find them again.

Keep your shoes with the bike, walk over in trainers! No float!! They must be set perfectly or I pity your knees!

Standard spd, no float. I bought my second set this year, after fourteen years of the last pair. They might have done 20000 miles, or more. They got hard to engage after a while, but I am a cheapskate (broke)

Time RXS

About 2500 miles before I wore them out walking to and from the garage over tarmac. On my second set now and I now wear trainers for the trek to the garage.

Time ATAC. The phosphor bronze cleat will outlast the cheaper Alium pedals on the commuter, but not the Carbons on the good bike.
