Police issue appeal for witnesses after a cyclist was found with serious head and facial injuries by a member of the public

A cyclist has been found at the side of the road in Kingswood, Bristol, suffering from severe head and facial injuries that police have described as ‘possibly life threatening’.

A member of the public contacted the Avon and Somerset Police at 7.42am on Thursday, August 10, after finding the male cyclist at the side of Downend Road.

“We were called at 7.42am after a member of public found a man lying by the side of the road next to a push bike with very serious head and facial injuries,” said Avon and Somerset Police in a statement issued on Thursday morning.

“An ambulance was in attendance and the man, who is in his 30s, has been taken to hospital for treatment to life changing, possibly life threatening, injuries.”

The man has been identified and police say that his family have been informed. They are now appealing for witnesses to the incident.
