A rider from San Francisco caught the moment they rode into a deer on their bike-mounted camera

Deer. These four-legged creatures appear to be the scourge of cyclists around the world judging by the videos of cyclists coming a cropper that are uploaded on YouTube.

Recently, CW featured a story of a lady being towed on her bike by dogs as she’s run down by a herd of the animals, now a rider in San Francisco has met his match by a solitary deer running into the road.

While hurtling along Alexander Avenue towards Sausalito at approximately 28mph, according to the video, the rider have no time to react as the deer hurdled the barrier and under the bike’s front wheel.

The rider, YouTube name Silas Patlove, said under the video: “Although I don’t remember it, I landed on my back, and hit the back of my Giro helmet, which probably saved me from serious brain injury.

“Although I had a mild concussion with a bit of memory loss around the event, I am very grateful to have escaped feeling only a little banged up.”

28 mph is not “high speed.” It’s a speed appropriate for conditions.

I’ve encountered deer while off-road improved trail riding and I started to sprint after them, but then deer can be so dorky so I backed off and let them separate.
