A mixture of WorldTour, Professional Continental and Continental teams will descend on Victoria, Australia, for the 2016 edition of the Jayco Herald Sun Tour over February 3-7.

The UCI 2.1-ranked race has attracted an interesting mixture of teams, with WorldTour squads Orica-GreenEdge, Team Sky and Trek-Segafredo coming up against Australian, New Zealand, British, American and Italian teams.

The start list boasts two Grand Tour winners: Chris Froome (Team Sky) and Damiano Cunego (Nippo-Vini Fantini), as well as rising Australian sprint talent Caleb Ewan (Orica-GreenEdge) and Great Ocean Road Race winner and British national champion Peter Kennaugh (Team Sky).

One Pro Cycling and JLT Condor are both at the race, with British-heavy line-ups.

The Jayco Herald Sun Tour starts on Wednesday, February 3, with a very short 2.1-kilometre individual time trial prologue in central Melbourne. Four road stages then follow, with the race ending on Sunday, February 7.

Previous winners of the race include Bradley Wiggins (2009), Simon Gerrans (2005/2006), Malcolm Elliott (1985) and Cameron Meyer won last year’s edition.
