Juan Jose Lobato (Movistar) conquered the tough finish on stage two of the 2015 Tour Down Under on Wednesday to move within striking distance of the overall race lead.

Stage one winner and overnight leader Jack Bobridge (UniSA) now sits at the top of the leaderboard with a slim three-second advantage over Lobato.

A number of the pre-race favourites also showed their hand on the day’s final climb, with Cadel Evans (BMC), Richie Porte (Sky), Daryl Impey (Orica-GreenEdge) and Tom Dumoulin (Giant-Alpecin) all in the top ten.

An early break of Cameron Meyer (Orica-GreenEdge), Campbell Flakemore (BMC) and Thomas De Gendt (Lotto Soudal) was caught by the peloton to set up the finale in Stirling.

Four stages of the race remain, including the penultimate stage featuring Old Willunga Hill, which has been decisive in shaping the overall classification in previous editions of the race.
