Van driver arrested over death of 72-year-old cyclist during club time trial

A man in his 20s has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving after a cyclist was killed while competing in a club time trial last week.

John Stewart, who was 72, was competing in the South Pennine Road Club evening 10-mile time trial on June 15 when he was struck from behind by a Mercedes van.
