Cyclist in China goes under turning articulated lorry, sits up unscathed

Not one for the faint hearted, the video below shows the moment a cyclist in the Chinese city of Ningbo was driven over by a large articulated lorry.

The cyclist rides up the inside of the turning lorry, and as local CCTV shows, the driver is seemingly unaware of his presence as he continues to round the corner.

The cyclist disappears from view as the vehicle’s entire length passes over him. Miraculously, the he is then seen to sit up and appears to not be seriously hurt by the incident.

Unfortunately, many collisions with motor vehicles — particularly HGVs — and cyclists don’t end so well. However, this isn’t the first time we’ve seen cyclists escape the most dangerous of situations.

Back in September, we reported on a scene that wouldn’t look out of place in a Bruce Willis film as an incident in the outskirts of Moscow saw a cyclist avoid collision with both a lorry and a car after a pile up at a junction.
