The Giant-Alpecin riders show us amateurs just how a cycling casquette should be worn

In a light hearted off-season video Giant-Alpecin have got some of their riders together to give demonstrations on how to wear the humble casquette.

John Degenkolb, Luka Mezgec and Warren Barguil give their professional advice on how to wear a cycling cap, and us amateurs should take note of these style tips.

Milan-San Remo and Paris-Roubaix champion Degenkolb is the most amusing of the three, particularly when he sports his cap in a backwards fashion as a homage to time trial riders of the recent past.

Mezgec shows the potential problems of having the peak down and Barguil has different techniques depending on which helmet he’s wearing.

The team had a mixed season in 2015, but on the whole their results point to a successful year. Degenkolb’s Monument wins were highlights but his lack of Grand Tour stage victories will have not been part of the plan.

Barguil showed his potential at the Tour de France, despite an incident with Geraint Thomas, and Tom Dumoulin gave a stand-out performance at the Vuelta a España.

With Marcel Kittel’s move to Etixx – Quick-Step, the team’s focus will likely shift for 2016.
