Boasson Hagen out of Paris-Roubaix
Edvald Boasson Hagen has been withdrawn from Team Sky's line-up for Paris-Roubaix due to ongoing problems with his Achilles tendon.
The Norwegian sat out of last weekend's Tour of Flanders hopeful of being recovered for the Queen of the Classics but, despite two weeks of intensive treatment, is not yet ready to race over the rough cobbles of northern France.
"Since I still have pain when I'm riding harder training rides, it's not realistic to go to one of the toughest races of the season," he said. "It's not easy to accept, but I'm very positive about overcoming this injury quickly and building to be 100% ready for the Tour."
Boasson Hagen is now due to make a return to racing at the Tour of Picardie in mid-May.
