Craig MacLean, Revolution 26, December 2009

The Revolution returns to the National Cycling Centre, Manchester, on Saturday December 11, bringing a host of top sprinters to the penultimate event of the season.

To complement the strong endurance line up Revolution favourites Ross Edgar, Tuen Mulder and Craig MacLean will be joined by rising stars Dave Daniell and Roy Van Den Berg. The sprinters will bring some much needed firepower to some of the teams as the championship starts to firm up.

The competition is finely poised with Maxgear currently leading Team Sky by just two points. Le Col and Motorpoint share third spot on 14 points keeping them both in contention for the title.

The other teams are still in a shot of the podium so team CHEP will be hoping the debut of Olympic medalist and World Champion sprinter Craig MacLean will make the difference.

CHEP captain, MacLean, returns to Revolution for the first time this season after a busy year racing as a pilot with the Paralympics squad. "We've had a bit of an odd season in the Paralympics Squad as our World Championships, which were meant to be held around now, have been postponed," explained MacLean.

He continued: "It's now in the middle of March, so I've had a bit of downtime and an injury, but I'm working hard for Revolution 31 to support Team CHEP. Revolution will be a good test of where I am, and great preparation for my championships."

MacLean was the team captain of last year's Revolution Championship winners, the Slicks. The team was successful down to MacLean's own personal performances with a bit of help from Bradley Wiggins and a formidable Future Stars squad. "I'll do my best to score a few points for CHEP," said MacLean.

"Teams can often pick up some valuable points from the sprinters, but with the introduction of some riders, they're often unknown quantities at this time of year, so I'll be keeping an eye out and doing the best I can for the team."
