Swift wins again in Tour of Poland

Ben Swift wins stage five, Tour of Poland 2012

Ben Swift took his second stage win in the Tour of Poland on Saturday after chasing down a late two-man attack and then propelling himself over the line to win the bunch sprint.

The British Sky rider somehow found the energy to effectively keep up a full-on sprint in the final 500 metres of the fifth stage to Zakopane. The Rotherham man picked his way through a messy sprint as it weaved its way back and forth, finally making his way to the head of the pack and staying there.

Nigel Wynn
Former Associate Editor

Nigel Wynn worked as associate editor on CyclingWeekly.com, he worked almost single-handedly on the Cycling Weekly website in its early days. His passion for cycling, his writing and his creativity, as well as his hard work and dedication, were the original driving force behind the website’s success. Without him, CyclingWeekly.com would certainly not exist on the size and scale that it enjoys today. Nigel sadly passed away, following a brave battle with a cancer-related illness, in 2018. He was a highly valued colleague, and more importantly, an exceptional person to work with - his presence is sorely missed.
