The latest addition to the Focus range is not only rich in quality components but comes at a price that had us scratching our heads. For a full carbon-fibre, Shimano Dura-Ace equipped bike, we would normally expect to see a price tag of at least £4,000.
There might be some variations depending on finishing kit and wheels, but generally most manufacturers would price around this sum.
The Focus Izalco Extreme bucks this trend and is being retailed for a bargain £3,200, coming with a European-designed carbon frame and fork set, Dura-Ace groupset and Truvativ carbon cranks.
Unbelievably, rather than the ubiquitous Ksyrium or Fulcrum wheelset this bike comes with a pair of Lightweight Standard wheels. Usually retailing at £1,850 a pair, this bike is worth buying for the wheels alone.
Goodness only knows how Focus has reached this price, but with only 20 bikes being imported you?d better get on the case quickly.
