New sunnies debuted by Drapac Pro Cycling at the People's Choice Classic
With the peloton enjoying immaculate conditions and temperatures approaching 40ºC at the Tour Down Under, the first WorldTour race of the season seems like the ideal testing ground for a new pair of sunglasses. Which is probably exactly the reason that Kask has chosen the race to trial its first ever piece of eyewear.
Probably best known for supplying helmets for Team Sky, the Italian company’s profile has increased since signing up with the British team for its inaugural season in 2010. However, it is Kask’s other sponsored team, Australian Pro Contininental outift Drapac Pro Cycling, which has been chosen to test the new sunglasses in the testing Adelaide conditions.
The sunglasses received their first race outing at the People’s Choice Classic on Sunday, and although Drapac failed to make much of an impact on the race, they certainly seemed happy with their new eyewear. “The glasses are comfortable, lenses are clear and the glasses sit well when training and racing”, said Graeme Brown, who has won two stages of the Tour Down Under in the past.
The bad news is that Kask isn’t willing to give out any details about its new sunglasses, with a full release expected in the spring, before the sunglasses are available to buy in the summer, when two different designs will hit the shops.
