Pro bike: Wout van Aert’s Felt F1x

We take a look at 2016 cyclocross world champion Wout van Aert’s new Felt bike ahead of the 2017 World Championship race in Luxembourg this weekend

At the start of 2017, van Aert’s team sponsors changed to Crelan-Charles and his bike sponsor from Colnago to Felt. Felt is also providing bikes for the Verandas Willems-Crelan pro continental team on the road this year.

F1x frame has front and rear thru-axles and a BB386 bottom bracket shell. At 1.89m tall, van Aert rides a size 55cm frame.

Paul started writing for Cycling Weekly in 2015, covering cycling tech, new bikes and product testing. Since then, he’s reviewed hundreds of bikes and thousands of other pieces of cycling equipment for the magazine and the Cycling Weekly website.

He’s been cycling for a lot longer than that though and his travels by bike have taken him all around Europe and to California. He’s been riding gravel since before gravel bikes existed too, riding a cyclocross bike through the Chilterns and along the South Downs.
