Pro’s new Missile bar has already seen success with Thor Hushovd riding it to win the Tour de France prologue. Created with a one-piece monocoque construction to keep the weight low and stiffness high, these bars weigh in at a claimed 475g.
Designed to keep the rider narrow, the Missile bars also drop to keep the rider low when cornering or braking. The adjustable gel padded armrests have been well designed to sit directly on top of the bar to allow the rider to get as low as possible. Pro has tried to eliminate anything that causes drag, with the extension being locked in place with a Twistlock design which removes the need for bulky clamps.
Straight or curved extensions are available, both featuring integral gear and brake cable routing. One width is available; 38cm centre-to-centre with a 31.8mm oversized clamp design and will retail at a whopping £400.
