The newest shoe in the Specialized road shoe range is the Pro Carbon Road, as seen on the feet of Damiano Cunego this season. Built on the same carbon sole as the top of the range S-Works Boa, this shoe has a ratchet and two-strap closure system.

It?s hard to imagine redesigning the classic three-strap shoe and offering anything new or useful, but Specialized seems to have managed it.

Interestingly, the ratchet strap is adjustable both in lateral and fore-aft movement. This is a simple but very effective way of ensuring maximum comfort. The ratchet itself is also adjustable to offer enough options to make the shoe fit snugly around the top of the foot.

With two sole vents to ensure comfort in the heat, plus the Body Geometry fit system as standard, there should be no problems with numb feet or hot spots on very long rides.
