Spanish company Closca bring you the Fuga collapsible helmet, which can be folded to fit in your bag when you're done with it

The debate about the necessity of using a bike helmet rages on, but there’s no denying the traditional design can lead to it being tricky to store them when not in use.

But fear not, Spanish company Closca has designed a collapsible lid that folds into a manageable size. The company claims the Fuga helmet “transforms a safety element into a fashion accessory you can easily transport”.

Designed predominantly for the urban commuter, Closca says on its website: “Wearing a helmet when riding to work through town and not looking like a “Tour-de-France” refugee became our opportunity to create a new product that would transform this safety element into a fashion accessory.”

When folded down the Fuga helmet can fit neatly into your purse or backpack (assuming there’s nothing else in there) thanks to the flattened product taking up less than half of its expanded volume.
