Fabian Cancellara, Tony Martin, or Alex Dowsett? Ahead of the opening time trial of the 2015 Tour de France, Cycling Weekly asked a selection of riders who they would put their money on for victory and the first yellow jersey of the 2015 Tour.

>>> Who are the bookies backing for stage one of the Tour de France?

Adam Yates (Orica-GreenEdge)

"Tom Dumoulin. He was going good in the Tour de Suisse. He’s been going good all year. It’s a good distance for him and he’s Dutch."

Michal Kwiatkowski (Etixx-Quickstep)

"I’ve looked at it on the video, it’s flat and not too technical. For sure it suits Tony Martin, he can do well. There are some turns but you can go into each corner with 100% of your speed so I don’t think it’s too technical."

Dan Martin (Cannondale-Garmin)

"Absolutely no idea. I don’t think about it, I just concentrate on my own race."

Rohan Dennis (BMC)

"I want to win on Saturday. Obviously there’s Dumoulin, Martin and Cancellara. Peter Sagan is a danger. He seems to be able to do pretty good prologues and he’s beaten me before in a 9km time trial. Matthias Brändle is an outside chance too."

Jérôme Coppel (IAM Cycling)

"For me there are three favourites. Tony Martin, Tom Dumolin and Cancellara. If I had to say one, I’ll go with Tony Martin."

Mark Renshaw (Etixx-Quickstep)

"Tony Martin. I'm not just saying that because he’s my teammate. He will win. For sure."

Steve Cummings (MTN-Qhubeka)

"Everyone is saying Dumoulin is favourite – so I’d say probably him. Over the years, over that distance, he’s been good. I remember last year at the Eneco Tour, he did a storming ride. Otherwise there’s the usual suspects: Tony Martin, Rohan Dennis. Maybe someone British will be up there. Maybe G [Geraint Thomas]. Maybe me."
