Arguably the most versatile in Assos’s range of base layers, the Early Winter works well under a summer jersey — kind of like a set of arm-warmers and baselayer combined — all the way into deep winter if you have a substantial enough jacket.
With its close weave it does a good job of trapping pockets of air next to the skin, and we found that with its mix of polymide, polypropylene and elastane it also managed to wick perspiration away quickly, keeping us warm and dry.
