Watch: Cobbles, crashes, and general chaos captured by on-bike cameras at Paris-Roubaix
GoPro cameras give a unique insight into a unique race
The 2017 edition of Paris-Roubaix provided all the excitement that we'd usually expect from the Hell of the North, with Greg Van Avermaet (BMC Racing) emerging victorious at the end of 257km of cut-and-thrust racing.
To capture pictures in the heart of the race, GoPro not only put cameras on the bikes of a number of riders, but also on the helmets of Mavic mechanics and race photographers, and even gave them to some fans at the side of the road.

The result is a fascinating look inside this unique race, with this video giving a taste of some of the action that goes on inside the peloton.
A couple of crashes are caught on camera, including one involving eventual winner Van Avermaet who you can see standing at the side of the road at 1-02.

You also get to see Mavic mechanics changing a wheel for Koen de Kort at 1-05, a race photographer snapping away at 1-24, and the joy of BMC's celebrations at 2-05.
