On his 15th completion and shortly before his 38th birthday, Mathew Hayman took the win in the Roubaix Velodrome ahead of four-time champion Tom Boonen.

A veteran in the peloton and a universally liked rider, few will begrudge him this victory.

The video is well put together, in particular when Hayman’s pre-race monologue is repeated over his efforts in the final 5km.

One of his rewards is a giant bottle of Kwaremont beer, which alone is a pretty good prize, but now he’ll have his own cobblestone to mark his greatest professional win.
