Where Lavelanet-Narbonne
How long 168.5km
IMPACT ON CLASSIFICATIONS
STAGE DESCRIPTION
The first real sprinters stage for a few days will mean that the fastmen will be hungry for wins and green jersey points. With an altitude loss of 500 metres from start to finish, this will feel like an easy stage compared to the days before.
STAGE FACTS
? Narbonne first appeared in the Tour in 1935 and hosted a finish every year from then until 1938. It was a finish town in 1952 but has since then had to wait until this year to be revisited.
? Nearby Narbonne-Plage also hosted a stage finish in 1981, which was won by Freddy Maertens.
? Lavelent has only featured in the Tour once before as a stage start. David Millar won the stage in 2002 to Beziers.
