I know I am not the only dad out there who struggles to balance family, work, and everyday life while being a cyclist, and lately I've been starting to wonder if it's time I did a little more indoor riding to boost my fitness.

For a few months now, I have been considering taking the plunge and U-turning on my strong opinions about riding indoors. It wasn't until I spotted this Amazon Prime Day deal on the Wahoo Kickr Core 2 that I thought maybe now is the time!

OMG I need to cool down!

In the UK right now, no one is going anywhere near their turbo trainers. We're into our third day of record breaking heat and we don't deal with the heat well at the best of times. CW writer Simon Fellows recently tested a host of radar lights, which alert a rider to vehicles approaching from behind. He originally dismissed them as "an expensive gimmick, a rich boy’s toy", however, he became a convert. When Simon tested Garmin's most recent version, he awarded it 5/5 in his review. The model reduced by 25% is slightly older, but tester Paul Grele tried the RCT715 and scored it a near-perfect 4.5/5.

I recently tested well over two dozen bike pumps, including a swathe of new models and the best mini bike pumps. Throughout my time sweating away in the workshop, my thoughts kept drifting back to the fact that the best electric bike pumps simply make sense. Why did we endure the manual way for so long?

Okay, it's not often you have to muster the energy to pump away at two dozen pumps across both road and gravel tyres, multiple times in one day; however, electric pumps just make life so easy. Quite literally, all you have to do is remember to keep it charged.

If you're a sceptic, given how many electric bike pumps are available in the Amazon Prime Day summer sale at hefty discounts, now is the time to just give it a go. I believe you will feel the same as I, almost immediately.

My findings from testing two dozen manual pumps

It won’t come as a surprise that I still believe the future belongs to the best electric bike pumps. Our testing of two dozen manual pumps didn't change and only firmed my position on the topic.

I still love analogue bikes and components, but this is one of the few creature comforts that is worth it. Electric pumps are faster, lighter, and more compact, and all I now carry in my handlebar bag.

While electric pumps are rapidly improving, manual pumps are still plagued with the same issues we have had for years. Many still don't stay on the value, or fit so tightly you end up ripping it off. Actuation ergonomics are still not great in the slightest, so much so that some of the ones I had on test were pitching my hand. The biggest fault for me is that, from my testing, not a single mini pump got anywhere near our prescribed target pressures, something electric pumps do with ease and accuracy.

With a user interface much like its Edge 850 sibling, the Edge 550 is up to the task and offers a detailed, intuitive cycling experience. I've currently got the Edge 550 on test, which, consequently, I'm nearly ready to wrap up. As it stands, it's Garmin's best-kept secret.

Similar to the Edge 850, the Edge 550 gets a highly responsive 2.7-inch full-colour, transmissive LCD screen - both models look basically identical thanks to sharing the same hardware dimensions of 54.6 x 92.2 x 16.8 mm. The differences come in the form of features, including a touchscreen, a small speaker for navigation prompts, a digital bike bell, Garmin Pay, and double the storage (64GB vs 32GB)—none of which is imperative for the cyclist, but are nice-to-haves.

Currently, the Edge 850 and 550 can both return 12 hours of battery life during intensive use, and up to 36 hours in battery saver mode.

Yes, the 850 Edge gets a touchscreen and a couple of other little novelty features, but I much prefer the tactile experience of buttons - plus, there's also no chance of accidentally deleting your ride (as I've done many times with my own Garmin Edge 850). Call me a purist, or maybe I'm too obsessed with Strava and don't want to lose any of my logged rides.

Anyway, I'm currently using the Edge 550 for all my time-trial races and hard sessions. This is because I do find that sweat can cause "ghost touches" on touchscreen bike computers, as it's highly conductive.

Take it from a cycling tech tester: you'd be crazy not to consider the Garmin Edge 550. It's reliable, easy to use, has one of the best screens in the game, and is now available at a seriously impressive discount. Go on, buy it - you won't regret it.

Smartwatches are incredible tools for daily health tracking, sleep monitoring, and even tracking workouts. But I've discovered that when I'm deeply engaged in high-intensity intervals, all-out sprints, or heavy weight sessions, my wrist-based sensor can sometimes lag behind rapid spikes in my heart rate, even with the very best smartwatches.

I've not actually tested the Polar H10, but currently sharing an old Wahoo heart rate strap with the whole family is now beginning to become unnervingly similar to sharing a toothbrush, and something urgently needs to be done to rectify the situation.

Until now, I've adopted a 'close enough' approach to heart rate monitoring. I no longer needed to track the minutiae of the time lag that racing and performing at the top end requires.

So what's changed? I'm still not racing to the podium, but I've become increasingly aware of my heart, age and spotting the irregular.

It's something that creeps up on you as you level up the age categories, somewhere after hearing about marriages, babies, divorces and then heart problems.

I'm not saying that the Polar H10 is a medical aid that will act as an early deterrent, but bet your bottom dollar, everyone I know who has had a heart issue has always said it's been their heart rate monitor data that waved the red flag first.

So, popping this in my basket this Prime Day isn't an act of panic—it's the equivalent of giving my finely aged, high-mileage motor a more useful dashboard than, say, power or FTP data would be for me, as heart rate cycling training still really matters.

I'll still need a head unit, and if you don't have one now is a good time to think about one of the best cycling computers, but it's a bit of a high-tech peace of mind so I can keep turning myself inside out on the hills, earning those mandatory café stops for a proper slice of cake, and trying to keep up with my daugter with absolute joy for many more miles to come.

Launched in 2018, in our original Wahoo Kickr Headwind review, we scored it with a respectable 3.5 out of 5 stars. At the time, we noted that although it performed brilliantly, it was fairly expensive for just a fan. As cyclists, I feel that we have better insight than most into real sporting hardship. Having to pause your ride to fix a puncture is annoying enough as it is. Far worse is pausing for a friend's flat tyre, especially if you have to wait and watch your ride buddy thrashing away on a traditional pump.

Today's best tubeless tyres and rims generally mean punctures are less frequent, but they still occur, especially if your name is Bart, my regular cycling pal, who punctures almost every single ride.

In our group test of the best electric pumps, we put 13 of the leading brands' electric inflators through their paces. Our expert testers scored the Cycplus AS2 Pro a flawless 5 out of 5 stars, and picked it as the best overall, saying, "The Cycplus AS2 Pro stands out as the best of the bunch. Its speed, precision, and programmability make it the top choice in performance and convenience."

Having used it myself, I wholeheartedly agree with the above points and would recommend it to anyone, especially at this price. The highlight is the large LED screen, which allows you to dial in precise pressure settings. It also automatically stops when the target pressure is reached, increasing battery life.

Cycplus says the AS2 Pro battery will have you covered for at least two full inflations from 0 to 120 PSI on a 700x25mm tyre, but I've found it to last a lot more. My only gripe is that it can discharge when not in use, so checking the battery status before heading out is advised (the LED screen shows this too).

It's also worth noting that this, like the majority of electric pumps, can get quite hot when using, so you need to be aware when using inner tubes with plastic valves, because they can melt. If you still use inner tubes (I don't), most models come with an additional valve to alleviate this.

In my opinion, and my friends', is that the convenience of use, precise pressure levels (especially with this model and its LED screen), and the lack of effort when it's required are all box-tickers and the traditional pump is resigned to taking up residence in our sheds.

Hello, intrepid APD’ers! I’m Andy, and I’m here to take you through the rest of our evening. I love a bargain, so I’ll be digging around for some of my favourite bits of kit and bringing you the best deals I can find, right here on our live blog.

Matt has already flagged the amazing Garmin Edge 850 and 550, plus the Osmo Action 4, Cycplus, Airbank, and an awesome home training fan. You don’t have to be training today to appreciate it, though—my south-facing office is baking in 32-degree heat with no air conditioning. I’d pay far more than £79.99 for the brilliantly named ‘Vacmaster Cardio’ today, but you don’t have to.

In all seriousness, if you’re training indoors—even on cooler days—there really isn't a better or cheaper way of cooling your turbo setup than this. You really don't need the big brand stuff, when this does the job so well, for way less cash.

The outgoing Crux might be the smartest buy of the whole APD sale and it's not on Amazon!

My esteemed colleague Anne-Marije Rook said it best in her love letter to the outgoing Crux: snag one of the outgoing model frames while they’re still available.

Yes, yes, the fancier aero Crux has landed with a hell of a fanfare but that means the outgoing model – with it’s round tubes, excellent handling and way more practicality is now dirt cheap.

Hammerhead Karoo 3 headunit for a smidge over £300!

Our highest rated cycling computer, the Hammerhead Karoo, has been knocked down to £301.99 in the Amazon Sale – the lowest price it’s been all year, and it’s on sale in SRAM’s own Amazon Store, so no worries about where it’s coming from.

I have one of these on loan, and I’ve made no secret that I absolutely love using it with SRAM’s Force Groupset – which is in my view, the pound for pound best groupset on the planet – and, the Karoo fills the same kind of sweet spot.

Garmin’s menus can feel a bit unwieldy in comparison and the screen feels just as good as your phone, with brilliant mapping. It’s not the very cheapest way into a new head unit in the sale, but it is pound for pound, one of the most usable. Need more convincing? My favourite pocket drone that films you riding, is now just £113

If you love those swooping follow-me clips for your socials, but don’t have a deal with Red Bull that includes a helicopter, DJI has you covered. And it's 33% off in the Amazon Prime sale.

I use the DJI Flip, and NEO, and they are excellent. I actually crashed a Flip into the blades of a combine harvester, and it survived unscathed.

Honestly, if you’re just filming yourself messing about on your bike, the NEO is the one to go for, for both price and ease of use. In the Amazon Prime sale right now, you’re getting a whopping £56 off.

What’s cool about this one is that it takes off from your palm, automatically tracks you and shoots in 4k. The best bit is, it fits in your jersey pocket too.

Battery sounds short at 12 mins, but who wants to film or watch more than 12 mins of footage from your sunday ride with your mates? For reels, vertical video, and that influencer-feel to your content, the spec is absolutely spot on. Everything you need and nothing you don’t, and it’s fool proof. Just avoid combine harvesters in high winds.

Some bargain bike or shed security that's got to be worth a punt

I skim past a ton of stuff when I’m looking for cycling deals on Amazon Prime Day, but high-tech electronics is always a rich seam of bargains in the APD coalface. This one looks so good I just had to share it - it's down from £124.98 to just £24.99 and it's got to be worth a try.

Now, bear with me, because this isn’t strictly cycling gear, but if you’ve ever had your bike nicked (who hasn’t?), you might have considered getting extra security for the shed or garage.

We know you’re keen on the subject because every time we run a feature on bike security, it gets plenty of traffic. We ran a story recently about a guy who turned his shed into a fortress, and we also have some very busy buyer’s guides for the best locks, and plenty of good consumer advice on the best security available for your bike.

This deal on Beet It shots is not to be missed if like me, you like to try new nutrition products for a little boost.

This Beet-cheat is 15% off—and it could give you a performance boost of up to 3%. Unlike some supplements, this isn’t snake oil; I’ve used beetroot for its performance-enhancing benefits for years.

I’m wearing this watch right now. In fact, it rarely leaves my wrist. Having tested equivalent smartwatches from Suunto, COROS, and many others over many years, I can confidently say the Garmin Fenix 8 is a standout, especially with 28% off in the Amazon Prime Day sale.

It's the pricing of new entrants that must be giving Garmin some headaches lately. But, with the price dropped on Fenix 8 from £789.99 to £567.15, that isn't quite the problem it has been.

Don't get me wrong, watches like the COROS Nomad are brilliant and compelling at a third of the price of a Fenix 8, and at that much lower-than-Garmin price point, its few downsides are hard to argue with. It’s nearly two thirds cheaper.

We've raved about them. Creators everywhere swear by them, and this setup uses proper clamps, with secure fittings, so you're not risking throwing a cheaply made selfie stick straight into your carbon wheels.

Since X3 and earlier we've been using these for cycling content here at CW. I have had a swim in the sea, seen my son off to bed and now back on the hunt for some Prime Day cycling deals.

If you, like me, believe cycling is the greatest sport on earth, you're in the right place this evening. So, stick around, and we will find some bargains in the Amazon Prime Day sale.

How to spot and get the best Prime Day Cycling Deals?

Before we jump back into the deals, I thought I'd cover a question I get a lot, from friends and family. There is, of course, no hard and fast rule; however, follow these four tips, and they will at least help you make informed decisions about your purchases and guide you towards what is a good price or a good product:

• First stop: Check reviews from the Cycling Weekly Team.
  We test hundreds of products every year across almost all cycling disciplines. If we haven't reviewed it, it's likely we have reviewed the same model in a different specification or a very similar product.
• Why not try other retailers?
  Prime Day is, of course, designed to get you to shop exclusively on Amazon. However, we increasingly see cycling and sports retailers offering better pricing on a wider range of products at the same time.
• Check the price.
  There are two really useful tools I always use: camelcamelcamel and Keepa, which track millions of prices on Amazon. What is most useful is that it tells you the lowest price the item has been sold for and whether it was listed before the event. So, you always know if you are getting a deal.
• Read the Amazon reviews carefully!
  Amazon reviews used by sellers to boost their ratings are easy to spot. While Amazon has clamped down on this, it is not a foolproof system. Look out for overuse of these five things:
  - A very high percentage of five-star reviews,
  - Lack of detail in reviews and vague praise,
  - Generic review titles like “Nice product” or simply “Awesome”,
  - Poor grammar and spelling mistakes,
  - Multiple reviews on specific dates (especially if there are long gaps between them)

Right back to the deals - Starting with Wahoo!

Earlier today, my brilliant colleague and deal-hunting extraordinaire, Paul, spotted that Wahoo had all of their latest computers on offer. The most significant being the 18% off, the Elemnt Roam V3, which is arguably the closest competition to our best bike computer, the Hammerhead Karoo 3.

Sticking with Wahoo for a second... This might be the steal of the week!

This is an interesting one. Earlier, I spotted that Wahoo is still selling the Elemnt Roam 2. I assumed it had been discontinued long ago, since we reviewed it in 2019 and launched it even earlier. Even last year, when Wahoo announced the refreshed range and the Wahoo Elemnt Roam 3, the outgoing model was still hugely popular with amateurs and pros alike.

Well, in the UK, you can still get the old Roam, and it's a decent 24% discount. Of course, the updated version got a touchscreen and a whole host of upgraded features. For those looking for a feature-rich training tool for a reasonable price, this might just be the steal of the week.

Not nearly as old as the Roam, but a record equalling low price

It is nowhere near as old as the Elemnt Roam 2, but the people's favourite Garmin Edge 540 is back on sale, matching its lowest-ever price. I predicted that Spring Deal Days were the start of the end for the Edge 540. Yet 3 months later, here I am again, but how many more are there?

Could this be the last opportunity to grab one of the most user-friendly devices Garmin has ever produced, or will I be sitting here again on Black Friday, saying the same again? Who is willing to take the risk?

A quick detour before I sum up the day, and head off for the evening

A pretty stonking deal on a Bob and Brad Massage gun has just caught my eye. I am not a user myself, although I do think about it, as even at just 36, I feel like I am falling apart. A while back, we had physiotherapist Dr Graham Theobald conduct an in-depth review of the Bob and Brad C2 ice and heat massage gun.

It’s hard to know which massage guns are truly effective; however, Dr Graham gave the C2 4 out of 5 stars, noting its value for money relative to the market leaders and its effectiveness for its intended use. Which he claims is fine for areas such as arms, neck, and feet (actually very good for the plantar fascia), but when it comes to larger athletes and muscle groups, such as glutes, it is a little underpowered.

Morning all, I'm back for day two of the Amazon Prime Day deals, bringing you all the best offers for cyclists.

It's hot here in the UK (speak to any in the UK today, and this is all you will get) I didn't sleep well, and more then every fuelled by vast quantities of caffeine. I have a little bit of housekeeping to attend to on the blog, and we will jump into the deals. Starting with the UK as ever, as our friends across the pond are getting their beauty sleep.

Quick recap on yesterdays hottest UK deals 🔥

There were a number of deals that seemed to catch your eye yesterday, but a few standouts are truly great deals and products:

• Airbank Mini - this small but mighty electric bike pump punches well above its weight and, even at RRP, is excellent value.
• Vacmaster Cardio54 - there is no denying it's hot here in the UK, and given this is maybe the 3rd or 4th year on the bounce we have seen such heatwaves, maybe it's time to invest in a fan. Fans like the Vacmaster can double as turbo fans in the winter as well.
• Le Creuset Espresso Mugs - My favourite coffee mugs finally came back on sale. Grab them while they are on a discount.
• Tifosi Vogel XC sunglasses - Probably the steal of the day. Top performance budget sunglasses at an even lower price!

Currently on test... The Cycplus AS2 Ultra!

We have waxed lyrical about the Cycplus AS2 pumps for at least the last 12 months. Two of them feature in our guide to the best electric bike pumps. Quietly, Cycplus released the AS2 Ultra towards the back end of 2025, and I have been testing it for a number of months.

The skinny is that it packs the punch and features of the Pro into a much smaller package, similar to the AS2 Mini. I'll be penning a full review very soon, but if you can't wait to find out, it is heavily discounted in the Prime Day deals, so you can find out for yourself.

Buying clothing and helmets on Amazon can be a minefield, but you can grab a bargain!

There is no easy way to shop for helmets and cycling clothing on Amazon; it is rare to find consistent discounts across a wide size range, and generally speaking, information on the products is sparse. Why this is, I have yet to work it out, but it does mean some bargains can be had. Check out this POC Onme Air MIPS.

First of all, you only need to do a quick Google search to see that the Onme Air is a £180 helmet. So, being able to purchase it at £86 is a bargain. Despite it only showing as discounted from £101. Which is the lowest price I found, and in a decent size as well, medium. This is usually where the discounts show up as quite low, but they only apply to very small options.

I just tested over two dozen pumps with this handy tool

Tech Editor Andy and I recently conducted a couple of big group tests, the first of which you can already see online in the form of the best mini bike pumps. Between those and track pumps, which are coming soon, we tested over two dozen pumps. To test the accuracy of all of these pumps, I used the very handy Topeak D2 Digital Gauge.

Mine is a few years old now, but I have found it even more valuable in recent years, given the issues surrounding hookless rims and their tyre pressure limits. You can, of course, use it on your car tyres, wheelbarrow, or mobility scooters, basically anything with a pneumatic tyre.

For me, I like to know my exact tyre pressure, espcially when I am testing new wheels, tyres, tubes, sealants, etc. Tyre pressure is such a valuable and free performance enhancer that more of us should be better in tune with the pressure in our tyres.

Time for something not on offer, but it's so cheap, you should consider putting it in your cart this Prime Day

The BananaSlip Tungsten All-Weather Lube from Tru-Tension is, according to ZeroFiction, one of the world's best, fastest and most durable drip lubes. It is just £10 a bottle in the UK!

This is a fairly recent discovery for me. I usually spend my hours reading bicyclerollingresistance.com testing reports until an industry friend mentioned ZeroFriction. It has been a fascinating read, and my suprise at finding a fairly unknown brand at such an affordable price was a bit of a suprise.

I have some of my favourite Peaty's All-Weather lube to finish up first, but once I have, I will certainly be splashing the cash on some BananaSlip to see what it's all about.

A must have for family bike rides this summer!

Okay, sorry, this is another product not on offer, but it is available via Amazon. Having spent the last few months testing it, I believe it's a must-have for all parents who want to take their kids on bike rides this summer.

This tow-rope from Kids Ride Shotgun has somewhat transformed riding with my son. We basically no longer need to worry about where we ride, including hills. We recently took a camping trip to the Forest of Dean, where the KRS Tow-rope really came into its own.

For the first time, we were able to really ride some proper trails and cover some proper distances. We have had great success with it in a number of places, not just trail centres, especially when I have been slightly ambitious with the mileage or underestimated how many snacks we would need.

I am thrilled to have found these. While Fizik creates wonderful cycling gear, Italian brands are often known for lasts that don't accommodate many UK and American feet.

These Fizik Vento Proxy WIDE FIT are currently available in all sizes at the best price I have seen.

They are also marked as being at their lowest price on Amazon in over a month. Simon Fellows is massive – 6'6 ish tall – and he described these shoes as being made for 'Flipper feet' when he reviewed them. He meant that in a good way. I'm a little more average sized but these fit me perfectly too.

One of the surprise deals that went mad for the clicks yesterday was our Vacmaster 4 deal, on a cracking looking floor fan to keep you cool when training. Perhaps not that surprising given how hot it is in the UK today.

Well, SADLY, it’s no longer on sale in the UK. It’s back up to £100. Well done to those who acted fast.

BUT, we don’t give up that easily, and I’ve found another one hiding in another section of the Amazon Prime Deals US site, that might be even better. And US buyers can snap this one up.

It’s $69, less than yesterday’s price, for what looks like exactly the same item. This one isn’t labelled as an indoor training fan, but it’s fairly obvious its basically the same product. It’s even shown in use as a bike / indoor training fan in the pictures.

Ok, let’s talk about pressure washers. Because this Karcher is 50% off in the Amazon Prime Day sale.

Now, some will say you must NEVER pressure wash a bike. But that’s only true if you’ve no common sense. Whether you agree with that advice or not is up to you. This deal certainly makes plenty of common sense to me.

Day 3 represents the day to really dig in and find the hidden gems. All the headline deals are out there now, so today we will be focusing on those only true experts like the Cycling Weekly team can bring you.

I'm fueling myself with some caffeine after another very warm night here in the UK, and we will get right into the deals.

It' hot 🔥 in here!

As I said, it was another unyielding night of heat in the UK. I told myself I wouldn't moan about it this year, try and embrace it, but a just a slight breeze at night wouldn't go amiss.

What would help is investing in a fan, of course. As I found out in Lidl last night, trying to buy one right now is a fruitless mission.

Thats where smart trainer fans could be a good option. There seem to be loads in stock on Amazon, and you can, of course, use them year-round once winter comes with your best smart trainer. Given that this heat looks to continue until at least the weekend, with Prime delivery, you could still feel the benefits.

Sticking with the heat & UK deals

Former Tech Editor Simon Fellows is a big fan of the Elite Deboyo stainless steel cycling bottle, awarding it 4.5 stars out of 5. His testing was largely done during the winter, in an attempt to save him some cash and time on coffee stops. It works both ways: you can use it as a coffee cup or a water bottle for hot or cold fluids.

It's something I'd like to see more water bottle manufacturers offer. There are alternatives, the Camelbak Podium Stainless and the colourful Bivo Bottles, which North American Editor Rook rates highly.

Secure your bike for a whole lot less 🔐

Last year, I put five angle-grinder-resistant bike locks through their paces, and of those five, there was one that stood head and shoulders above the rest, not just in its overall angle-grinder resistance, but also in use and in its absolutely incredible value. The focus of this week's blog is to highlight the best Prime Day deals, but not everything gets one, which means some great products don't always get a mention. Take the Muc-Off Rim Stix, they are only a fiver, and while the best tyre levers seem to really divide opinion, it can not be denied that they are an excellent choice. They are my go-to, and if you buy nothing else this Prime Day, these are so cheap, you could slip them in with your loo rolls or coffee capsules.

Stock up on this benchmark gravel tyre

If you ride gravel much, you'll very likely be aware of the Panaracer GravelKing, one of the OG gravel tyres and often used as a bit of a benchmark. Of the extensive GravelKing range, the SK (small knob) version is the original. In our experience, great for a bit of three-season razzing around trails and paths of all kinds.

They've always been a good value pick, but we've just seen them reduced on Amazon UK, so now they're even better. Stock up!

Now you're torque-ing!

We're all aware to some degree or other that most of the bolts on our bikes should be tightened to a certain level and not beyond. But weighed up against replacing tyres and chains and buying new kit, shelling out on torque wrench is something that's easy to put off for another day.

Well, with numerous deals around, perhaps this is that day. We found this one on a Lexivon set that should cover pretty much every bolt on your bike.

The deal is on Amazon US, but the set is also available on Amazon UK at the full price.

Major savings on this Peloton bike

Half of Europe may be under threat of melting under an unseasonably roasting sun, but we all know that the weather will cool and, eventually get cold again. At which point you may well want to get back to riding in the shelter of the micro-climate of your kitchen / shed/ garage (delete as appropriate).

In which case you could do worse than this stonking 35% Amazon UK deal on this Peloton indoor trainer, which comes with an HD swivel screen. (membership required to access all features).

Cheap fuel anyone?

If you're riding in red-hot weather, such as we're experiencing right now, then you really need to keep on top of your nutrition and hydration, and in particular replace those essential electrolytes that have been dripping off your face for the last few hours. Nice!

Another outside-of-Amazon Prime Day deal we've spotted, this nifty REI Co-op Link Frame Bag - a great bikepacking bag - is currently reduced by 40% to under $50.

Perfect for bikepacking adventures and/or cycle commuting to work, the REI Co-op Link frame bag is designed to fill the main triangle of your bike frame and is the ideal place to pack heavier items as well as anything you'd like to easily access through the day.

Amazon Prime Day is fast approaching, dropping at the end of June, and as always, there will be plenty of cycling bargains to be had, with discounts on all your essentials from the chain lubes to cycling apparel and cycling tech.

The best bike computer market is one of the most crowded in cycling, with some of the giants of the sport like Wahoo and, of course, Garmin competing head-to-head. Our best overall device is the Hammerhead Karoo, but it's the Garmin Edge Explore 2 discounted by 40% to just $179, and its sibling, the Garmin Edge 550 reduced by 20% to $399, that caught my eye.

These cycling computer deals are both excellent early Prime Day discounts, and take both devices down to their lowest of the year so far. Having checked the pricing, I'd say it's unlikely they'll go lower come the actual event. Like all the best cycling deals, these are only while stocks last.

In our Garmin Edge Explore 2 review, we awarded it an almost-perfect 4-star rating. Simon reckoned that, for most cyclists, it was the perfect bike computer. The Explore 2 does everything you'll probably ever need, with its mapping and navigation functions being particularly excellent. Paired with a big, clear and full colour display, which measures diagonally at 3 inches (76 mm), which, given its age, is only a touch smaller than the current flagship Garmin Edge 1050.

Other review highlights included its general ease of use and setup, and the training data also offered plenty of metrics, which Simon reckoned were enough for most people.

The Garmin Edge 550 is one of the brand's latest devices and is under a year old, so new that we've yet to review it. We have, however, reviewed its slightly bigger brother, the Garmin Edge 850. Which differs only in screen size and touchscreen functionality. It's up to you whether that's an advantage or not.

Otherwise, the Edge 550/850 saw an upgraded LCD screen, faster processors, and more advanced training-insight features, first launched on the Edge 1050. Battery life was also improved, with a claimed 12 hours of use under demanding conditions, extending to 36 hours in battery saver mode.

I am a fairly recent convert to the Muc-Off Rim Stix. Last year, I was confronted with one of the most difficult tyres I have ever had to fit when reviewing the Pirelli P-Zero Race TLR 40mm. So, what is special about these early Amazon Big Spring Sale deals?

My theory is that this could mark the beginning of the end for the 40-series devices. To most, this is just the natural progression of modern technology; things improve, brands launch updated models, and the old ones are discounted to clear stock. In fact, based on the lifecycle of the previous 530/830 models, we are almost exactly at the end of Garmin's three-year cycle. However, the end of the Edge 540 and 840 holds more significance than this, well, at least for us bike tech nerds.

With the launch of the 550, 850, and the previous 1050, Garmin shifted away from MIP (memory-in-pixel) displays to OLED, which, to its credit, offers much more vibrant colours, deeper contrast, and greater detail. However, the previous screens – made using MIPs – almost always performed better outdoors, where you and I do almost all of our cycling.

Simply put, they're a more efficient way to light a screen, so they won't drain the battery as fast. And given that the previous have the option for built-in, pretty effective solar charging, those features combined mean epic battery life. Battery life, frankly, the new units just can't match.

While tech, of course, ages in some cases poorly, the Edge 40 series, rather than feeling like they are just reaching the end of their life, feels more like the end of an era, one that was just a bit more analogue, perhaps.

I have recently been testing the Cycplus AS2 Ultra, Cycplus's most refined electric pump, and early impressions are positive; it is effectively a mash-up of the tiny standard AS2 with the AS2 Pro's functionality. Given that both of those pumps have been rated very highly by colleagues, with the latter being awarded our Best overall electric bike pump I can't see the AS2 being knocked off its perch any time soon.

When Wahoo announced it would revamp the Roam and Bolt in 2025, there was some uncertainty about which direction it would take. Would it be an incremental change? Or a complete revamp? Buying something you already own feels pointless - but here I am, browsing the Amazon Spring Deal Days offers to find a new cycling gilet, even though there’s nothing wrong with the ones I already have at home.

It's actually not even me who needs one, but purchasing cycling gear clearly falls under my role as the trusted cycling expert of our household, unless, of course, you ask my 11-year-old daughter, who apparently already knows 'everything'. I digress.

Anyway, I was asked to find one of the best cycling gilets to help my other half get through spring and most of summer in the north of the UK. This mission has a very limited budget, so I was pleased to find this excellent Endura Men's Hummvee Softshell Gilet at its lowest price ever, even though I'm buying it somewhat reluctantly.

As a cycling family, we generally own many multiples of cycling kit, including gilets. We've also been ahead of the curve by not gendering our kit, though some items, namely sports bras and shorts, tend to live in his or her kit drawers. Having very similar measurements for most of our lives has meant that my partner and I have been able to share a communal jacket and gilet drawer.

Until now.

After a reasonable hiatus from cycling, he decided to get back into riding and racing after a couple of years of solely doing gym strength training. He started with a cyclocross season, backed up by lots of indoor riding, which meant that, apart from shorts, jerseys, and raincoats, we hadn't really thought much about other kit.

But now that he's signed up for some gravel event, he needs to start riding outside a bit more. That's when the first problem arose. Nothing that isn't over 90% Lycra fits him now. We have a dedicated gilet drawer, and the most he can do is get two arms in, but there's no way a zip is going to come together now that he has the sort of upper-body muscles a track sprinter would be proud of.

While this impressive adaptation to strength training in such a short timescale would have most people wanting to know his secret for muscle bulking*, it also means I now have to buy my real-life Ken a new spring cycling wardrobe.

This wasn't on our spending radar for the month, but as I see him riding off the drive with a flappy oversized raincoat and thermals that are older than most pro tour riders, I feel it's only fair to stretch the monthly disposable income a little more to enable a gilet to stretch around his newly jacked torso.

*Spoiler alert - it's eating a lot of biscuits while watching bike races late at night.*

When it comes to spending money, especially on myself, I always seem to find a reason not to. So, I firmly live by the 'it's only a good deal if you need it' philosophy, which also means I know exactly what I'm looking for when searching Amazon Spring Deal Days offers.

I've been tracking Peloton prices for a couple of years now, and I find that although there have been 35% discounts before, they have been limited to the original Peloton Bike. To find this level of discount on the top-of-the-range model is incredible.

When we reviewed the Peloton, we found it was a great way to get a good workout in a short time, and the entertainment was hard to beat.

Having a purposeful indoor bike was really not on my radar. We're in spring, for goodness' sake, and I really should be out riding in this sunshine. Except I live in Manchester (also known as the rainy city).

I also work, and my daughter is in secondary school with a social life, multiple clubs, and activities to attend. As a reluctant indoor rider at the best of times, when my daughter started secondary school last September, I realised that, although I had a bit more time in the day to ride, I had to be super-structured to make the most of it.

But despite all the plans, life keeps getting in the way. I quickly discovered that a 1.5-hour window of opportunity soon became just an hour by the time I'd put on all my kit, got spares ready, and sorted the bike.

Add to this the stop-start nature of riding outside, I was getting back from a ride and discovering that the actual moving time was just 45 minutes, and I was barely sweaty.

I still strongly believe in getting outside for even those 45 minutes, but for improving fitness and strength, a much more focused session on the Peloton would be far more productive, and I could shower and be back at the desk in the same amount of time.

Then there are all the extras—adding strength training and yoga to my weekly routine has really paid dividends. At the moment, I pay separately for both, and I also have to realistically allow two hours for a one-hour session when I consider the faff of getting to classes and back, not to mention the fuel costs or car wear and tear.

Times are tough for the dear old mini-pump. The days of it having a monopoly as the inflator of choice for jersey pockets and ride-packs are over, as it's been superseded by a smaller, lighter, and far more effective counterpart – the portable electric bike pump. Amazon Spring Deal Days 2026 are live. The cycling deals don't quite hit the heights of Black Friday, but if you're gearing up for summer riding, then there are plenty of worthy discounts to be grabbed.

Our deals-hunting legends have scoured the Amazon site, and Cycling Weekly's Amazon Spring Deal Days hub has a round-up of all the best discounts. From ride essentials like TPU inner tubes and bike cleaning kits to cycling tech like the best bike cameras and the best bike computers.

One tech deal that caught my eye was on the Huawei GT 5 Pro smartwatch, discounted by a staggering 42% to just £189.99, and a saving of £140 on the £329.99 RRP. The Huawei GT range has claimed advanced cycling capabilities, which makes them really appealing as some of the best smartwatches for cycling.

Although we've yet to review this particular Huawei smartwatch, we did have an in-depth look at its sibling, the Huawei Watch GT 6 Pro, and the GT 5 Pro benefits from many of the trickle-down tech, including most of the advanced cycling capabilities in that model. It's worth adding that the GT 6 Pro is also discounted for Amazon Big Spring Deals Day, down 19% to just £265.99.

Below you'll find all the details on both these discounts, and for our US readers, I've added the very best prices relevant to your location. Although Amazon's Big Spring Sale lands in the US from 25-31 March, we'd expect plenty of smartwatch deals to appear across those dates.

It's safe to say that Garmin dominates the market when it comes to the best smartwatches. Our top pick overall is the Garmin Forerunner 955 Solar. However, if you're looking away from Garmin, both the Huawei GT 5 Pro and GT 6 Pro come with a load of appealing cycling features, very much on par with the majority of the best cycling watches from rival brands.

They include what they claim to be super-accurate GPS and heart rate tracking, a battery life of up to 14 days (GT 5 Pro) or 21 days (GT6 Pro, and ECG analysis, and both include a robust sapphire glass titanium build.

As the top-of-the-range model, the GT 6 Pro benefits from a touchscreen AMOLED display, which they say is 1.5 times brighter than the GT 5 Pro. It also has improved performance and tracking features, including new antenna technology and 3D distance tracking.

Both have advanced cycling capabilities, but the GT 6 has the Virtual Cycling Power feature, which Huawei claims will deliver "Pro-level cycling tracking". Although we've yet to test this feature, Huawei claims that through what they say are advanced algorithms, built from studies conducted at the Beijing Sport University, paired with a built-in wind sensor and the rider's basic stats like body weight, age and height, the GT 6 will calculate a rider's virtual power output, but there are no real data details as of yet.

Outwith the improved display and the Virtual Cycling Power feature, the improvements between both these super-capable smartwatches are incremental, and as the GT 5 Pro has a whopping 42% off for Amazon Big Spring Deals Day, I'd say it was the way to go if you're after a cycling smartwatch deal.

The Amazon Big Spring Sale might be officially over, but fear not, I have been back into the listings to see what is still live and not to be missed.

It has been a marathon 7 days of deals, and it has been one for the record books with some excellent deals across the board. Christmas wasn't all that long ago. Have a search around, as this is a great time of year to make the most of those gift cards.

2. Why not try other retailers?

In recent years, a number of bicycle retailers have sought to have a slice of the Amazon pie without being available on the retail giant's platform. This means it is worth shopping around and heading to your favourite retailer to see if they are matching prices or, in some cases, can be more competitive.

4. Check the price

If you are looking for the best cycling deals, there is a really useful tool I always use called camelcamelcamel, which tracks millions of Amazon products. What I find most useful is that it tells you the lowest price the item has been and if it was put up before the event. This way, you always know whether you are getting a good deal.

5. Read the reviews carefully

Amazon reviews can be an easy way to spot sellers bumping their ratings, although Amazon has clamped down on this it is not a fall-proof system. Here are our 5 ways to spot them:

• A very high percentage of five-star reviews,

• Lack of detail in reviews and vague praise,

• Generic review titles like “Nice product” or simply “Awesome”,

• Poor grammar and spelling mistakes

There’s a reason there are so many knock-offs of this bike repair stand on Amazon, but the genuine version of the generic red stand is from Feedback. It often isn’t a big Prime Day deal, with 15% off and usually retails at £325. Today, thanks to all this Amazon deal nonsense, you can pick one up for £261.25.

The other red stands available are made to look like this one for a reason. It’s made properly and constructed in aluminium, so if you’re heading to race events, it’s easy to fold and stow in the car. Unlike steel equivalents from other brands, you’re not going to damage your rotator cuff carrying it or break a toe setting it up. The clamps are also excellent, and a clever quick-release clamp means once it’s set, you can take the bike out to tighten handlebar stem bolts or do other jobs on the workshop floor. Then, you can pop it straight back in, in a set position, without worrying about damaging the bike.

Having decent tools to hand makes tricky jobs easier. It makes boring jobs a pleasure, and please don’t get me started on why you should never work on your bike upside down on the handlebars and saddle.

When Wahoo launched the original Kickr Bike in 2019, it became the ultimate training solution and best indoor smart bike in the segment. As expected, the new Kickr Bike Pro has resulted in some heavy discounting of the Kickr Bike V2 and I've found just the deal for you. But before sharing it, allow me to outline what makes the Wahoo Kickr Bike V2 such a superb option for indoor training.

I'm often asked why commit to a dedicated smart bike over a regular bike/smart trainer setup, and the answer is simple: space and convenience. A dedicated smart bike such as the Kickr Bike V2 can be shared across multiple users thanks to its broad range of adjustments and, because it's been designed for specific indoor use, the aluminium/steel frame is more durable and resistant to component fatigue and corrosion caused by sweat.

The key features are amazing. It utilises a motor-driven electromagnetic flywheel system with resistance of up to 2,500w. It can also simulate a maximum and minimum slope of 20% and -15%, respectively, thanks to an integrated incline feature. I’ve tested the Suunto Vertical and various Corus watches this year, and I’m currently wearing a Garmin Fenix 8. My own watch, however, is the Fenix 6. I just spotted the exact same watch on sale on Amazon in a Big Deals Day promotion for just $349, down from $499, which is a significant discount. If you want to buy it in the UK, the deal gets even better at just £259.95, down from an original retail price of £649.99.

We couldn't believe it when Garmin 1070 added a digital bicycle bell to its flagship head unit spec sheet and, as journalists, we've made no secret that we favour the 1040 for sheer value in that context, but what about the watches?

Garmin’s Fenix smartwatch range remains my absolute favourite, consistently topping the best smartwatch charts for years. New entries such as Coros and stalwarts Suunto definitely nibble at Garmin’s heels, but to say Garmin still dominates the market isn’t an overstatement - deals day or not.

The point I want to highlight is that Garmin’s Fenix 8 is excellent - I’m wearing it right now on test and love it - but it costs a staggering $1,199.99. That’s £850.99 more than this Prime Big Deals Day offer.

The question is, what are you sacrificing if you opt for the older model? The better question is, what aren’t you sacrificing? For the price of the Fenix 8, which adds numerous features many of which you probably will never use, you’re saving £850.99.

There are many things I could do without if it means saving that amount.

However, even when compared to the fancy new models from all the brands I’ve mentioned, the Fenix 6 still offers a 28-day battery life, compared to 29 days in the Fenix 8. You get heat and altitude-adjusted VO2 Max, Pulse Ox sensors, and training load focus. Maps. Excellent navigation. Sleep monitoring. Alerts. It features multi-channel GPS (used by the American military) and one of the most precise heart rate sensors available.

I’d rank the 6 above the Suunto, having tested that extensively this year, for everything except navigation. And although the Coros does edge ahead on features and possibly sensors, on this deal it’s still cheaper than the Coros Apex Pro, which retails around $450.

Yes, you gain many extra features with some of those and certainly the Garmin Fenix 8, but it's often hidden in menus you may never need. Simply put, the core qualities that make Garmin watches really good are all present in the Fenix 6, and it feels notably more substantial - which, in our weight-obsessed world, is an advantage in an outdoor watch.

It feels way more durable than the newer models, and I’ve worn mine for years inside a busy workshop with dust, hammers, grinders, and fire causing no issues whatsoever.

I’ve dropped it off mountains into trees in deep powder countless times, in all kinds of extreme temperatures, hit the same trees multiple times, crashed it on my MTB, and on two occasions woken up in a CT scanner. The body, strap, all of it, is just genuinely that sturdy. At this price, it’s almost a joke to consider any other option unless you’re made of money.

I was sceptical when offered a Garmin Varia RTL515 Rear Radar Light to ride with, but now I’m not just a convert; I’m an advocate for all cyclists using radar. If the strip turns orange, it indicates a vehicle is approaching at a normal speed, while a red strip signals that a vehicle is approaching rapidly (faster than about 55 mph relative to the bike), requiring a little more caution. Once the display turns green, the road behind you is clear of traffic. The visual display is augmented with audible beeps and vibration alerts from your head unit, watch, or phone.

Of course, the Varia RTL515 is also a super bright rear light. It boasts a peak power output of 65 lumens in day flash mode, enabling you to be seen from up to a mile away by approaching traffic. Other modes include solid (20 lumens), peloton (8 lumens) for group riding, and night flash (29 lumens). The light integrates with the radar by changing its flash pattern and intensity when an approaching vehicle is detected.

Battery life is a very respectable 16 hours in daylight flash mode and about six hours in solid mode.

My awareness is heightened to the extent that I no longer feel the need to constantly look over my shoulder to check traffic conditions. I love cycling in autumn and winter – it’s hard to beat those fresh, bright mornings – but I’m less keen on dealing with the inevitable dirty bike. Even worse, a muddy bike leads to a grubby van or car interior, which pleases me even less.

That’s why I’m rather taken with the Kärcher Mobile Cleaner OC 3 Foldable, which is now at a bargain price for Amazon Prime Big Deal Days. In a nutshell, it’s a compact, battery-powered outdoor cleaning device designed for washing bikes and kit away from mains power or water. This makes it an ideal tool for rinsing off road bikes, gravel bikes, winter boots – even muddy pets!

I charge my OC 3 at home, but you could charge it from your vehicle or a power bank. It comes equipped with a 1.8-metre flexible low-pressure hose and a flat jet nozzle, with additional brushes available as optional accessories, including those specifically intended for pets.

This summer, I embarked on an epic journey, cycling 900 miles across France from St Malo to Nice, guided by a Wahoo Elemnt Roam V3. I don’t believe I could have chosen a better cycling computer to help me find my way because, frankly, I found its navigation features to be peerless.

It was a tough route, favouring a maze of quiet, tree-lined lanes over the more direct but busier Routes Nationales (‘N’ roads). Whether pedalling through the thick chestnut forests of the Ardèche, or the deep gorges of Alpes-de-Haute-Provence, my Wahoo Elemnt Roam V3 never missed a beat.

Here’s why it’s such a great tool for navigation. The Elemnt Roam V3 features incredibly accurate dual-band GPS that supports GPS, GLONASS, BEIDOU, Galileo, and QZSS. As I discovered, reception appears unaffected by dense tree cover and steep-sided canyons. It’s child's play to transfer routes from third-party apps such as Komoot and Strava, and it’s quick and easy to share locations from Google Maps or Apple Maps.

Turn-by-turn navigation is a given, but when I did deviate from my route to visit a local patisserie or two (I was on holiday…), features such as Retrace Route and Back on Track quickly delivered me, well, back on track.

The new, larger 16 million colour, 2.8" high-resolution touchscreen is truly impressive. I navigated through every condition from drizzle to brilliant sunshine and never experienced any issues viewing content on the screen. What’s more, the mapping is extremely easy to follow. It’s simple and uncluttered but includes all the route information I need at a glance, including street names. From my experience, the straightforward way in which the mapping layers and chevrons, which indicate the direction of travel, work with such clarity, is superior to Garmin’s mapping.

Wahoo’s Summit feature, which provides detailed information about upcoming, in-progress, and completed climbs, proved invaluable as I journeyed south into the mountains of the Cévennes and beyond. It automatically displays a climb’s profile as you start to ascend, although you can turn this feature off if you prefer not to see it!

The touchscreen is very responsive, on par with my Garmin Edge 1050; however, I found myself using the three large buttons at the base of the unit far more than I expected. For some tasks, they are much quicker and more immediate than swiping left and right, back and forth. On that note, Wahoo has significantly improved the user interface for the Wahoo Elemnt Roam V3, making it much faster to achieve what you want with minimal menu-diving.

Battery life is super impressive at a claimed 25 hours. Not strictly a nav feature, but naturally a working unit is essential for successful navigation. I didn’t push the battery to its limit – I couldn’t afford to – but I did notice that, when charging the Roam every night, I always had hours of juice in reserve. That was after some very long days, too.

The Wahoo Elemnt Roam V3 is excellent for navigation, but what about fitness features? These weren’t my primary focus during my trip, but yes, there are all manner of structured workouts and custom workout profiles available. You won’t be short on training guidance or encouragement, that’s for sure.

After a big ride, there’s nothing I look forward to more than a hot shower, some sweats, and vegging on the couch, watching the Great British Bake Off. For a better recovery, I know I should get up, do some stretching, maybe even break out the foam roller. But, especially in the fall and winter, my energy and motivation are pretty low after hours spent grinding through the cold, the rain and the wind.

I've been racing and testing the best smart trainers since 2017, after a bad crash and broken bones forced me to embrace indoor cycling. Amazon Prime Day deals have finally arrived, and while discounts are always welcome, finding the best deal isn't always about buying the cheapest item.

It becomes even more challenging when there are two direct comparables to choose between, such as the Cycplus AS2 Pro and the Airbank Mini electric bike pumps.

We tested 12 of the best electric bike pumps back-to-back and found that one stood out as a winner, while the others offered a lot of bang for your buck. Both are on offer this Amazon Prime Day.

Like the rest of the cycling population, I do love a bargain, but have found with age that quality over quantity is a much better basis for making purchasing decisions.

On test, we found that the Cycplus AS2 Pro electric pump really stood out from the crowd in terms of its speed of inflation and compact package.

On the flipside, the Airbank Mini electric bike pump was nearly half the price of others on test, and now it has even more money off.

During testing, we found that the Cycplus AS2 Pro combined brains and brawn, offering both in a compact form. It features a small digital screen and programmable pressure settings, which give it a sleek, precise feel. I still carry my daughter's spares when we ride, which means I have to consider more than just a double puncture. I can also see it being handed over to her when she starts riding more on her own; the ability to preset and user-friendliness make it a great first pump for anyone.

The Air Bank Mini remains a great purchase, and we highly recommend it in our group test. Its price makes it more accessible to most cyclists, but I'd always want to carry an analogue hand pump as a backup.
