Let’s not be coy. Our Wiltshire Wildcat next month is probably the most picturesque
sportive in Britain.

This all-new event uses the quietest lanes in Wiltshire and North Dorset, set among the most stunning countryside the UK has to offer. You’ll be treated to fantastic views from the top of the Downs, the only snag being that you have to climb there first!

Compact chainsets and large bottom sprockets will be the order of the day for the Epic 80-mile ride that boasts more than 3,000 feet of climbing. Not that fit? Don’t panic, the 62-mile Standard route cuts out 500 feet of elevation, while the 34-mile Short route will test your legs without being a killer.

All routes start and finish at Salisbury Race Course with highlights including the climbs to Ashmore Down, Sutton Hill and Garston Down before the final assault back to the racecourse for post-ride refreshments and massages. Every finisher will also be awarded a medal and a well-stocked goody bag.

Next week’s Cycling Weekly magazine includes a special four-page Rides feature, tackling the Wiltshire Wildcat route with top local riders. Also in our February 21 issue you’ll find more than 350 events listed in our 2013 sportive calendar, the UK’s most comprehensive guide.

You’ll find details of the full Cycling Weekly sportive series sponsored by Boardman Bikes, or go to www.cyclingweekly.com/sportives.
