A cyclocross race will be included as part of The Cycle Show at the NEC Birmingham later this year, organised by the Derby Cyclocross team.
All races will take place on the last day of the show (Sunday 28 September) and will include elite men’s and women’s events, along with, a mixed industry ‘show down’ for all bike shop, distributor and cycle media staffers to fight for industry honours.

For both the men and women elite races, riders will be able to compete for a £1000 prize pot each, meaning women can win equal prize money to the men, something the Derby cyclocross team are proud to promote.
Chris Holman, Event Director at organisers Upper Street Events, said: “It’s really exciting to be hosting cyclocross races at the show and arguably it’s long overdue given the growth in interest in the sport here over the past few years. Hopefully by showcasing cyclocross to a wider cycling audience we’ll help to develop that interest even more.”
The course, which starts and finishes inside the show, will head out into the local woodland to provide a tough challenge for all riders.
Tickers are available in advanced at £13 for adults and £1 for under 14’s.
