After launching a number of new computers over the summer, Garmin has now completed a complete redesign of its Garmin Connect mobile app, with new graphics and a new interface that can be tailored to suit users’ individual goals.
The updated app, which is now available to download for Android and iOS, has a completely different look from its predecessor, which largely mimicked the desktop version of Garmin Connect, with individual home screens for different sports showing the basic details of your most recent activity as well as a summary of your training from the last 30 days.

You are also able to access leaderboards to allow you to compete with friends, your training calendar, and news feed, as well as monitoring other metrics such as weight, calories, steps, and sleep quality something which will come in handy if your a user of Garmin’s vivofit fitness band.
For riders using more cycling-orientated devices such as the Garmin Edge 1000, the app will continue to allow for wireless uploading of data at the end of the ride, and will also have the option to use the Live Track feature to share live data from a ride.
This update comes on the back of a raft of software updates over the summer that saw the Garmin Edge 1000, 810, 520, and 510 computers all intergrated with Strava Live, giving riders the option to receive live updates on their progress towards KOMs while they’re out on the road.
