Tyler Farrar (Garmin-Sharp) took his first WorldTour win since 2011 on Sunday, claiming the bunch sprint victory at the end of stage three of the Tour of Beijing.
Philippe Gilbert (BMC) retained the overall lead in the race ahead of Reinardt Janse Van Rensburg (Giant-Shimano) by five seconds.
Gilbert is unlikely to hang on to the race lead after Monday’s stage, which features a tough mountain-top finish to sort out the general classification.
