Newly-signed Raleigh rider Dan Fleeman is organising a reliability trial called the Tour de Nock on January 31. It starts at the Lea Hall Colliery sports and social club on Sandy Lane, Rugeley WS15 2LB at 10 am.

The entry fee is £5, and all proceeds will be split between the local Air Ambulance and the Queens Hospital, Burton-on-Trent orthopedic department.

"I've always wanted to do something for Queens because it is where I was treated when I lost my kneecap as the result of being hit by a car while out training," Fleeman told Cycling Weekly.

"The trial is basically the old Bereton Wheelers event and it consist of a 40 mile loop that ends back in Rugeley then there is another 20 miles around the Cannock Chase if people want to go on. We called it the Tour de Nock because locals call the Chase the Nock.

"Most of the Raleigh team will be riding with me, and each entrant gets a goody bag worth £7 pounds at the moment. There a drinks bottle from Peloton Cycles and an energy bar and gel from Zip-Vit, plus a free Zip-Vit recovery bar at the end. Tea and cake is free too. There are also spot prizes from a number of other sponsors including Skins, Raleigh, Bike Pure and Prendas."
