Saxo Bank announces complete 2011 line-up

Alberto Contador and Bjarne Riis, August 2010

The Saxo Bank-Sungard squad has announced its complete 25-rider roster for the 2011 season ahead of the team's first get-together in Fuerteventura on Sunday - which will be attended by Alberto Contador.

Bjarne Riis's team has perhaps been in the headlines more for the riders that it has lost, rather than those it has signed. But the top-ranked squad in the UCI's 2010 World Ranking still has some big hitters despite the loss of Andy Schleck, Frank Schleck, Fabian Cancellara, Jens Voigt and Stuart O'Grady.

Former Associate Editor

Nigel Wynn worked as associate editor on CyclingWeekly.com, he worked almost single-handedly on the Cycling Weekly website in its early days. His passion for cycling, his writing and his creativity, as well as his hard work and dedication, were the original driving force behind the website’s success. Without him, CyclingWeekly.com would certainly not exist on the size and scale that it enjoys today. Nigel sadly passed away, following a brave battle with a cancer-related illness, in 2018. He was a highly valued colleague, and more importantly, an exceptional person to work with - his presence is sorely missed.
