Cav confirmed for National Championships and Leazes Criterium

Mark Cavendish wins, Giro d'Italia 2011, stage 12

Mark Cavendish today confirmed that he will be riding the National Championships road race (June 26) in Newcastle, but sprung a surprise by announcing that he will also ride the Leazes Criterium 48 hours earlier.

Cav competed in last year's nationals in Pendle, Lancashire, but the combined dominance of Team Sky and a rolling circuit ruled the HTC-Highroad rider out of contention for the coveted white, blue and red jersey.
