Rapha at the Rossington Evening 10: Photo special

Rossington Evening 10-mile time trial, August 2011

The Rapha Condor Sharp team are up in Sheffield this week as they make final preparations for the Tour of Britain. As part of the activities over the week, four members of the team took part in Wednesday evening's Rossington Wheelers club 10 out on the O10/1 course at Hatfield Woodhouse near Doncaster. They included new national circuit champion and local man, Graham Briggs, Kristian House, Dan Craven and Ed Clancy.

With the Tour of Britain having a time trial stage on the final day in London, it was an ideal opportunity to test out the TT machines and equipment and see where about's the form is. There are now just over three weeks until the Tour of Britain starts up in Peebles, Scotland on the September 11.

There was a relaxed club atmosphere to the evening's event with perfect balmy, calm conditions. Ed Clancy was the first of the Rapha men to set off behind the local riders on the out and back course from Hatfield Woodhouse to Blaxton roundabout and back. House, Craven and Briggs followed to complete the twelve man field.

It was Ed Clancy who posted the fastest time with a 20-06 but it was a closely contested race with just 12 seconds separating the Rapha quartet. Craven came in with a 20-12, House 20-13 and Briggs 20-18.

The team have some training rides planned for Thursday, Friday and Saturday and will also drop in to the Claremont Sports Medicine and Performance Centre, one of the team's sponsors, at the Claremont Hospital on the west side of Sheffield.
