Andy Tennant career history

Andy Tennant joined the British Cycling Olympic Academy in 2005, the year that he made his mark on the world stage by winning the individual pursuit at the Junior Track World Championships in Austria.

Since then, Tennant has competed on the track and road, riding for a variety of domestic British squads alongside his duties for Great Britain and England on the boards. He has held junior, under-23 and senior titles variously at national, European and world level on the track.

He took a landmark victory in the Tour of the Reservoir Premier Calendar road race in 2009, and won the Richmond Grand Prix in 2011.

Tennant failed to make the final four in the team pursuit for the London Olympics, but in 2013 regained his position to contribute to Great Britain's victory in the event at the European Championships.

On the road, Tennant moved to Rapha Condor-JLT in 2012, and then Madison-Genesis in 2013.

Nigel Wynn
Former Associate Editor

Nigel Wynn worked as associate editor on CyclingWeekly.com, he worked almost single-handedly on the Cycling Weekly website in its early days. His passion for cycling, his writing and his creativity, as well as his hard work and dedication, were the original driving force behind the website’s success. Without him, CyclingWeekly.com would certainly not exist on the size and scale that it enjoys today. Nigel sadly passed away, following a brave battle with a cancer-related illness, in 2018. He was a highly valued colleague, and more importantly, an exceptional person to work with - his presence is sorely missed.
