Road World Championships 2012: Coverage index

Road World Championships 2012 logo

The 2012 UCI Road World Championships take place in Limburg, Netherlands, over September 15-23, 2012.

The championships are split into three disciplines: road race, individual time trial (ITT) and team time trial (TTT). For the road race and ITT there are five categories apiece: men, women, under-23 men, junior men and junior women. The elite men's and women's TTT will pit trade teams, rather than national squads, against each other. There are 12 events in total.

The winner of each of the road race and ITT (but not TTT) categories earns the right to wear the coveted world champion's rainbow jersey whenever they race in that discipline for a year. Gold, silver and bronze medals are awarded to the top three finishers in each category, including in the TTT.

Cycling Weekly will be covering the 2012 Road World Championships in full on www.cyclingweekly.com and in the magazine with live text coverage, race reports, photos and analysis.
