Mydaily commute, involving busy main roads, unlit country lanes, and a cross-country cycle network, offered a great test for the Scorch front light.
While industrial looking, the handlebar mount was secure but the lateral movement mechanism snapped when fitting it. A touch of glue fixed the issue.
Three modes – bright (180 lumen output), standard and flashing were easily rotated through via the large rear button, and the one-hour high beam claim was spot on, with a noticeable dimming, after that time. Flashing mode then covered the morning commute.
Charging is pretty easy via a magnetic connecter to a USB port. Apart from the mounting, which was easily resolved, a great light. At its best for commutes of around an hour or so, bright enough for the lanes, noticeable enough among the traffic. £49.99
