Blanco’s Giant Propel

Blanco’s Mark Renshaw has spent the last three months helping Giant finalise and debug the all-new Propel, and the TDU was the bike’s first competitive outing in its final form.

The team bike differs in a number of ways from the full production version, as it utilises an alloy version of the Speedcontrol SLR brake – beefier than the carbon brake on the production bike and has a neater cable clamp and two positions for the brake noodle to allow easy use of both narrow and broad rims.

Blanco mechanics have paid more than a little attention to aero matters; notice the rear brake cable doubled back to keep it out of the airflow. Not present on this bike were
Vittoria prototype 25mm tyres.
