Hackney GT has released its Samba Velo jersey, a Brazilian-flavoured cycling top that just so happens to be the theme of the moment thanks to the South American nation hosting the football World Cup.
Rather than a disposable novelty item, the Samba Velo jersey features a close-fitting race cut and features such as a full-length zip, three back pockets and a rubber grip around the lower hem to stop it riding up. The jersey is available in both men’s and women’s versions and in a range of sizes, priced £59.95.

Better still, anyone buying a Samba Velo jersey before July 13 2014 will receive a free CD of Samba music.
“I’ve been a cyclist and a DJ for most of my adult life with Brazilian music being a big influence in my mixing style so I thought I’d combine the two in my latest jersey,” says Hackney GT owner Russ Jones.
“Initial reaction has been great, as customers want a technical cycling jersey that’s bright and different without it being a Brazilian national shirt. Making it available in both male and female cuts also fits in with our policy of making all our designs for everyone with children’s versions coming soon.”
