Fitness watches can provide a little extra dose of motivation – particularly in the colder months when the incentives to get out and pedal are a tiny bit harder to come by.
Outdoors, GPS and Glonass reception tracks movement, and there are several activity profiles for running, cycling, trail running, swimming, hiking, skiing and indoor workouts.
Fitness training features include Vo2 max testing – and as well as tracking distance, altitude is tracked via an internal barometer.
All Fenix 3 watches have been created to be robust, using ultra strong glass fibre housing and stainless steel buttons. The screens are sunlight readable with high resolution colour displays.
Wireless connectivity syncs the watch with other devices and it’s waterproof to 100 metres.
The Garmin Fenix 3 Sapphire HR GPS version measures heart rate at the wrist, and as well as tracking V02 Max, it also includes Recovery Advisor software. The bundle comes with a chest strap heart rate monitor, too.
