Self-assigned nicknames don’t always work, but we’re not going to argue with Peter Sagan styling himself as the Incredible Hulk, especially after his fine solo win at the Tour of Flanders on Sunday.

An Specialized clearly thinks the same too, presenting the world champion with a special custom painted edition of the Specialized S-Works Evade aero helmet that Sagan wore at the weekend, with the Incredible Hulk tearing apart the rainbow bands that run down the centre of the helmet.
Sagan’s Hulk persona first appeared when he won stage six of the 2012 Tour de France, celebrating with what he described as his Incredible Hulk impression as he crossed the line, a memorable celebration that was second only to the running man Forrest Gump impersonation that the Slovak had cracked out three days earlier.
Sagan should give his new helmet its first race outing at Scheldeprijs today, although the Slovak is looking to do little more at this race than stay out of trouble and test his bike and equipment set up ahead of Paris-Roubaix on Sunday.
