Richard Handley (JLT Condor) took his first ever victory in the Pearl Izumi Tour Series on Thursday evening, soloing to the win in round five hosted by Durham.
Handley’s winning margin was an impressive one as he finished a minute ahead of the bunch led home by JLT team-mate and previous round winner Kristian House. Chris Lawless (Team Wiggins) completed the podium positions in third.
Despite the JLT squad’s performance on the night, it was One Pro Cycling that took the team victory, meaning that they edge ever closer to current series leaders Madison Genesis.
Olympic team pursuit champion Ed Clancy (JLT Condor) continued his dominance of the Costa Express Fastest Lap competition by scorching around the circuit in a fraction over two minutes.
Television highlights of the Durham Tour Series round will be shown on ITV4 at 9pm on Friday May 29, with a repeat at 8am on Saturday May 30.
Round six of the 2015 Pearl Izumi Tour Series takes place today (Friday, May 29) in Barrow, Cumbria. The 10-round series concludes in Bath on June 11.
