In-form Team Sky pro Alex Dowsett left his rivals in his wake once again when he clocked 46-35 for the E2/25 course in Cambridgeshire on Saturday.
After slashing more than three minutes from the course record for the E1/26a at Ugley the previous weekend, Dowsett proved a convincing winner of Saturday’s Lea Valley CC event and fuelled talk of a bid for the national 25-mile competition record.

Elsewhere, multiple national champion Michael Hutchinson came close to his own national ‘10′ record when he cruised to a speedy win in Hull Thursday RC’s event in East Yorkshire.
He clocked 18-07 for the V718 course at South Cave, a time which was good enough to push Kevin Dawson (Sportscover.com) into second spot by 54 seconds.
On Sunday, reigning champion Matt Bottrill (I Ride RT) won the second round of the RTTC-Rudy Project National Time Trial Series in Cumbria.
Bottrill clocked 1-03-58 for the 31.2-mile event, which took in two laps of the Bassenthwaite Lake circuit. His time was around a minute and a half quicker than local rider Mark Holton (Drag2Zero.com) and throws down the gauntlet to his rivals for the 2011 series.
With Julia Shaw (Drag2Zero.com) a non-starter, Chrissy Radon (Zappi’s CC) won the women’s one-lap race by around a minute from Rebecca Slack (The Altitude Centre).
