Cycling quiz: Tour de France stages through the ages

Put your knowledge to the test with this week's cycling quiz

The Tour de France 2016 route was confirmed earlier this week. The parcours for next year sees the race start in the department of La Manche before heading south through central France for some very mountainous stages towards the back end of the battle for overall honours.

That said, the sheer number of metres climbed and the succession with which the mountain stages come could also happily suit riders like Nairo Quintana and Fabio Aru.

The 2016 Tour will be the 103rd edition of the Grande Boucle, so for this week’s cycling quiz we’ve had a look back at some of stages from the years gone by.

See how you get on in the quiz, and be sure to pass it on to see how your mates do too.
