The Tour de France 2016 route was confirmed earlier this week. The parcours for next year sees the race start in the department of La Manche before heading south through central France for some very mountainous stages towards the back end of the battle for overall honours.
With two individual time trials, one of which is up a mountain, defending champion Chris Froome should be quite pleased about what lies before him.
