Watch: Peter Sagan has to climb over fence to reach Tour de Suisse podium presentation

World champion somehow ended up on the wrong side of a high metal fence on his way to collect points jersey

Peter Sagan may not be renowned for his climbing abilities, but he had to put them into full use as he was forced to scale a fence to reach the Tour de Suisse podium.

We’re not quite sure how it happened, but the two-time world champion somehow found himself on the wrong side of a high metal fence.

Clearly cutting things fine to get to the podium in time to receive his jersey for winning the points classification, the race organisers manage to find two ladders to allow Sagan to scale the fence.

For some reason emerging from the bushes, Sagan makes light work of the task, but must have been glad that he was doing it in trainers rather than cycling shoes.

Thankfully there were no more obstacles to overcome on his way to the podium, where Sagan received the black jersey, finishing 12 points clear of BMC Racing’s Damiano Caruso.
