The weather at the Tour de Romandie looks pretty challenging

There is currently quite a lot of snow in the town of La Chaux-de-Fonds, where the prologue of the Tour de Romandie will take place

Liège-Bastogne-Liège saw its fair share of snow on Sunday, but riders at the Tour de Romandie are facing even more of the white stuff this week.

Several riders have tweeted images ahead of the Swiss race of thick snow in the town of La Chaux-de-Fonds, where the prologue is set to take place on Tuesday.

One of the favourites to take the win on the first stage, Tom Dumoulin, shared a picture from his hotel room with a good couple of centimetres of snow on the ground.

Geraint Thomas also shared Team Sky soigneur Marko Dzalo’s Instagram post, showing the Sky lorries coated in snow.

We saw the full range of winter and wet weather cycling apparel on show at Liège-Bastogne-Liège, but I’m not sure if they make thermal skinsuits for time trials.

With summit finishes on stages two and four, organisers will be hoping the cold weather doesn’t force any alterations to the course.
