On Sunday, the 2013 Tour de France came to a close. Chris Froome was crowned the winner, Marcel Kittel won the sprint on the Champs Elysees and the Arc de Triumphe was lit up in lights to celebrate.

But before the spectacular finale in Paris, there was a lot of racing to be done, including the double ascent of Alpe d’Huez. While the yellow jersey was all but secured, two of the podium places remained undecided until the penultimate stage of the race.
