Video: Conquering Les Alpes, part one

On August 5, British cyclist Mike Cotty embarked on a non-stop solo trip from Évian-les-Bains to Nice across the French Alps, a total of 677km with 17 mountains and over 16,000 metres of climbing.

Cotty was filmed during the ride and the first of two instalments has been posted online.

Here you can watch Cotty deal with the stifling heat of the Col de la Madeleine, wind of the Col du Glandon and taking on the Col du Galibier by night.
