Constructed using proprietary C:62 Carbon, Twin Mold monocoque technology allows the Axial to be stiff where it’s needed, specifically in the bottom bracket, tapered head tube and chainstay areas, while comfort is built in thanks to controlled flex in the seatstays, flattened top tube and carbon fork blades.
Cube also says that the precise C:62 lay-up system does away with superfluous material, delivering a lightweight frameset as a result.
Teaming this frameset with the flat-mounted Shimano Ultegra hydraulic disc brakes and 12mm thru-axles that deliver impeccable stopping power in all weather conditions, makes the Cube Axial a very appealing all-rounder.
The Cube Axial WS C:62 SL Disc uses what is described as Aero Endurance Geometry, designed to keep you comfortable even on the longest of days in the saddle, but with its short wheelbase and head tube, be under no illusions that this is anything other than an agile and swift machine.
The rest of the bike has been dressed impressively. Shimano Ultegra 8000 11-speed makes the grade across the bike, and a compact chainset and 11-32t cassette will get you up even the steepest of climbs, while still allowing you to give it the beans on the flat.
Internal routing not only enhances the bike’s clean, sleek looks, but will also protect cables, keeping you shifting smoother for longer.
The much-respected Mavic Cosmic Elite Disc wheelset shod with Continental Grand Prix 4000s tyres is the icing on the cake — all in all, the Cube Axial WS C:62 SL Disc is a remarkable package.
