Police have released a shocking video that shows a car driver in Swindon knocking a cyclist off his bike before reversing and then driving away.
The incident took place in Swindon, Wiltshire, in the early hours of January 25 with CCTV capturing the moment a cyclist was upended by a car pulling out of a junction after seemingly failing to look.

Fortunately, the cyclist was uninjured, but as he got up to remonstrate with the driver, the car – thought to be a Vauxhall Corsa – had already reversed and begun driving off in the opposite direction. The driver temporarily turned off their lights, too.
Wiltshire Police are urging the driver or people with knowledge of the 4.30am incident to come forward. “Luckily the cyclist was unhurt, but this could have ended differently; the male cyclist could have been seriously hurt or even killed,” PC Jack Newman said.
“We would like to speak to anyone who may have heard or saw what happened or saw a Vauxhall Corsa-style car driving in this area at this time – possibly driving erratically. Also, if you were the driver of this car – please consider your conscience and come forward.”
The police can be contacted on 101 or anonymously via Crimestoppers, on 0800 555 111. An email, CPTNorthSwindon@wiltshire.pnn.police.uk, can also be used.
