Team Sky‘s annual Christmas video has become something of a tradition, with riders getting into the festive spirit undertaking a seasonal task.

This year, it’s the turn of British duo Ben Swift and Ian Stannard to provide the Christmas cheer in a video entitled ‘Oh Watt A Wonderful Christmas’.

The powerful pair first help to construct what looks like a ramshackle collection of bikes, parts and stands and wrap them with fairy lights.

Then they climb aboard two static bikes equipped with dynamos and pedal as hard as they can to bring the 5000 lights up to full power… and reveal the message spelled out by the lights.

There’s also a behind-the-scenes video that shows just how much planning and effort went into creating the message.

According to Sky’s digital manager Nick Howes it took months to get everything together, and special care was taken not to damage the precious Pinarello team bikes as they were hung up and wrapped with lights in the studio.

Last year’s Team Sky Christmas message featured Geraint Thomas playing Jingle Bells on bicycle bells attached to a team Pinarello while riding around.
